Staff wil continue to wear face masks when they are up close and personal with our residents. Our team who look after our residents are individually selected and we look for caring people. People who want to make the lives of others as good as they can. If COViD 19 is suspected in the home mask wearing for all staff and visitors will recommence. We are a new branch of home care support services from the leading UK home care provider, Caremark. There is also a choice of two homes within the Vale of Glamorgan that are staffed by the local authority.

Some people in nursing care homes are entitled to receive help with their costs, and the term NHS Funded Nursing Care refers to care provided by a registered nurse in a designated nursing care home. The UHB is responsible for providing NHS Funded Nursing Care for two groups of people - those who fund their own care and residents of nursing homes who meet specific nursing eligibility criteria. We employ Nurse Assessors to help with this responsibility. You will be responsible for providing high quality care to our residents and play an active role in the management of the home. An effective communicator, you will lead the clinical team, managing the day to day and delegating duties as well as sharing your clinical experience, guidance and support across the nursing and care team.

This video was recorded in the first days lock our lockdown back in March. We understand that it is lovely that you are sending items in to your loved ones but from today could you ensure that it is ESSENTIAL supplies only. We are hoping that this will be the final announcement that we need to make before Christmas and all the staff join me in wishing you as good a Christmas as possible in these strange times. We are all learning to live with this virus and thank you for your support and assistance in this. Visiting will still be on an appointment basis but the visits will now be able to be up to an hour in duration.

As from Monday 14th March we are able to make the following changes in line with our latest guidance from the Welsh Government. With the incidence being so low we had hoped a relaxation would have been forthcoming at this time but we now hope that it will not be long before new more relaxed guidance will be forthcoming. Our kitchen staff have worked tirelessly to keep our high standards through the past two years and we are very grateful to them and proud of the whole team. It is a day of celebrations for us as Claire and her team have been inspected by the Environmental Health Department and we are delighted to say that we have again maintained our 5rating.

Visitors will not be allowed into the home and will be invited to meet their loved ones through closed glazed doors. This will protest our residents but allow them to see each other. Verbal contact will take place with visitors using their own mobile phones to ring into a number they will be given as they arrive. As visiting will gradually be reintroduced to our residential care homes, please contact the care home directly to check the latest policy. The excitement was a joy to behold and not only with residents but staff too. The day seemed like a step back to pre covid times with an activity that excited everyone. Hopefully, as a result of the vaccinations we will be able to have more events like this. If loved ones cannot make the visiting hours we are asking for, then special arrangements will need to be made. To do this please contact the Home Manager, Helen Randall who will accommodate your requests whenever she is able. We hope these new arrangements will be welcome news for everyone and keep your fingers crossed that more residents or staff don’t test positive and we have to revert to more difficult arrangements again.

We have decided whilst waiting for an announcement to proceed on a risk assessed plan. We have concluded that the safest way for residents is to stay within the home. Any visitors who decide that the restrictions allow them to come to the home do so at their own risk.

Mike Kemp has said that he is certain the Beena and Jacob will continue the tradition of high-quality care and continue to support the staff. He also said while looking forward to retirement he is so grateful to all existing and past members of staff who have cared so diligently and lovingly to all residents over the years. Life in College Fields is continuing as well as we ever can.

Within a week all the staff were in full PPE with masks, gloves and aprons or gowns. We are hopeful that we will be able to be continue to use this system of visits and we will keep a check on the publication of new guidance. As the community events are ‘opening up’ there will inevitably be more community transmissions.

We still request that no person visits the home with any signs or symptoms of COViD even if they are negative on LFD testing. We fully respect any member of staff or relative who chooses to continue to wear a face mask for any reason. We are looking for people who want to make a difference to people's lives.

We have just been informed that from the 8th of September we will no longer be able to test asymptomatic visitors and staff. Also on that day as a result of one resident being positive we will be no longer having to put special arrangements for visitors as long as no one else becomes positive in the meantime. Care in your own home and living arrangements including residential and nursing homes.

During this period, we have not been able to revert to ‘normal’ visiting arrangements. Today’s news enables us to relax our arrangements so here are the new easier arrangements. There are no longer restrictions on the number of visitors visit per week, or the length of time of your visit.

You will then be asked to go directly to your loved ones room and will be unescorted. Whilst in the home you are required to wear a face mask but once in the residents room you will be able to remove the mask. We ask that you leave the bedroom window open and the door closed for the duration of your visit. In other words there are no changes for us with staff and visitors continuing to be tested and face covering still to be worn in the home. With the relaxation of recent Regulations we have risk assessed the situation and are today celebrating the fact that we are able to relax the use of face masks in the home.

We encourage visitors as they make our residents' lives better. Normally, we welcome loved ones but this time we were delighted to welcome some with their own wooly jumpers. At The Manor House we believe you will see the difference in our approach to caring the minute you walk through the door. We have been independent and family run for more than 30 years, and are proud to have achieved a reputation for excellence in nursing care. We always try to meet each of our residents particular tastes and preferences to ensure their happiness and provide a home away from home.
